Lisa Hillman

Lisa Hillman, FAHP, CFRE is a senior consultant with Due East Partners, LLC. Lisa consults with nonprofit organizations in governance, board development and philanthropy. The former President of the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, and Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Anne Arundel Health System in Annapolis, Maryland, Lisa coordinated the Health System’s fundraising, volunteers, public affairs and legislative activities during a period of tremendous growth, including its relocation from downtown Annapolis to a 100-acre campus in Parole. During her tenure, she helped to oversee four capital campaigns and to raise more than $100 million.

Lisa offers more than 35 years’ experience in the development, public relations and health promotion arenas. She began her career as a broadcast journalist for Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington, DC radio stations. In 1980, she joined Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) as  its first Director of Public Relations. In 1987, she became Director of Public Affairs for the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. In 1990, she returned to AAMC as Executive Director of the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation and in 1995, she was promoted to Vice President of Development and Community Affairs for Anne Arundel Health System. In 2003, she was named a Senior Vice President for the Health System.

Active in professional associations throughout her career, Lisa served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) 2008-2009. She earned her Fellows in Healthcare Philanthropy in 2005 and the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation in 1997, which she maintains. As a former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce and member of the Leadership Anne Arundel Board of Directors, she currently serves on the Anne Arundel County Library Foundation Board of Directors and the Boards of Pathways and Samaritan House. A graduate of Leadership Maryland and Leadership Anne Arundel, she has been named one of the Daily Record’s Top 100 Women in Maryland.

Since 2012, Lisa has served as a writing professor and coach for graduate students in the Schools of Public Policy and Architecture at the University of Maryland, College Park. She actively pursues writing and editing opportunities and has been published in area magazines and journals.

Lisa resides in the Historic District of Annapolis, Maryland with her husband, Richard. The couple has two adult children, one grandchild and a former racing greyhound, Harry.
