Our Leadership

Lauren Maddox and Bess Langbein founded Due East Partners in 2015 to bring innovative approaches, business skills, and practical, easy-to-use tools to organizations and collaboratives working to improve our world. Joy joined Due East recently from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) – Maryland where she worked to release individuals serving life sentences through the Maryland Parole Partnership Project. Joy is a lifelong advocate for race equity and justice through the expansion of rights for communities that have been marginalized. A proud graduate of Morgan State University and former President of MSU’s Student Government Association.
